Bill Calin, our colleague and friend, is no longer with us. His illustrious academic career, his books ranging from French epic poetry to the role of literary language in modern nationalist movements, the awards and the hundreds of lectures and readings, were always for him part of a lifelong teaching mission that he delighted in fulfilling at University of Florida for the past thirty years.
