CFP: 2016-17 MEMS Graduate Student Talks

As last year, MEMS will sponsor a series of Graduate Student talks.  This year, we have two different co-ordinators to whom graduate students are encouraged to submit proposals. This is a splendid opportunity to sound out ideas or get practice on the way to a more formal presentation.

In the Fall, Rachel Walkover (History – rewalkover@ufl.edu) will coordinate the Talks. After Rachel concludes her M.A. (planned for December), Philip Allen (Spanish and Portuguese – philipallen@ufl.edu) will take over coordination.

We had many stimulating and original talks last academic year, and hope to continue the interdisciplinary interaction this year with Rachel’s and Philip’s assistance.

If you are a graduate student interested in presenting your research (talks tend to last 15-30 minutes followed by friendly discussion – the format is very flexible), I encourage you to be in touch with Rachel and Philip. You’ll likely be hearing directly from Rachel before too long for Talks in the coming Fall!
