Events with Joshua Teplitsky, Oct, 28-29
Please join us for a lecture by Dr. Joshua Teplitsky (Stoney Brook) on 28 October at 5:30 in the Judaica Library. Teplitsky will discuss his new book on David Oppenheim (1664-1736), chief rabbi of Prague during the early 18th century, Jewish political leader and philanthropist, and book collector. The book and the talk will highlight the international cultural, economic, and religious networks that connected Jewish communities throughout the diaspora during the early modern period.
On Tuesday, 29 October, there will be a roundtable discussion on “The Social Life of Books: From Print to Pixel: A Roundtable Workshop on Digital Book History,” from 12:00 to 1:30 in the Judaica Library.
